Snowball Johnny - At ten SJ started studying classical guitar, untill he had 3 grades when 18. He stopped playing "dead peoples music" and started writing songs,jamming with his friend Bruno on old black blues themes, one would play rythm and the other solo. Listening to Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, The Gratefull Dead, Jimi Hendrix' Experience, Lightning Hopkins is how he got into the blues! A few years later he got the blues, cold turkey-ing heroïn, playing in the streets and breaking his heart on several occasions. SJ played loads of bands playing solo, rythm, bassguitar, bluesharps and vocals, he also plays drums, violin, cello, double bass and piano, but in the end feels real happy with a guitar a bluesharp and his voice... Just like when he started. Since 1998 things got interesting with the coming of mp3.com, and Johnny joined, publishing over 150 songs, up to 65.000 downloads a year. When Mp3.com got sold and all artist uploads destroyed without notice, Johnny was very disappointed and had to start all over again. He did and now the same happened to Besonic.com ,now you can hear Johnny on over 10 different sites all over the world, China, Brazil, Australia, Germany, USA, Japan and others. The name?
SJ was the lead gitarist of a band called Snowball Johnny and his Hotshots back in 1981, a rock band playing mostly covers and SJ-songs in a punkrock setting. SJ has a heroïn history and knows cocaïne, (but doesn't like!) and H+C= a mix better known as Snowball, like amphetamines and sleepers are called Speedball. The other side of Snowball Johnny is the white nigger attitude of SJ playing mostly black music, pretending to have the blackest of blues, living like Papa in "Papa was a rolling stone". Living up to death or drugs spending time(in yail. Allways ending up the same old cannabinoid veganist bluesman! That is Snowball Johnny!R
The Philosophy of FREE music
SJ has got 99% of his fans through the internet, and thinks it is a good development for independent music, against the hypocracy of A&R, where financial gain is prior to artistic freedom! I don't think theA&R-managers of Record Companies are interested in Sing/songwriters who give their music for free or sell 75 minutes CD's for $5. We got our own label Blackcat Music Frillsham Berks.
