| Hallo, Ich wollte nur mal wieder guten Tag sagen. Ist ja lange her, dass ich mit den 12 Fragen an... bei Besonic im Mittelpunkt stand. Ich habe viele neue Sachen, die ich bald auch hochladen werde. | Thank you very much for the review of "Fire Inside (You Fan It)". I'm actually trying to build a new sound and make it my own which I would call different maybe instead of wierd. There is some irony then that the first reveiw of it it would be compared to something from the mid 70's. I definatly respect your opinion looking at your background in music. I believe american music and pop culture are slowly drowning in it's hip hop culture. My girlfriend is from Munich and I believe her and many other europeans that I meet and befriend to be more open minded to different styles and genres of music. | |

| Interview > 1. Where are you from? How did you get your artist-/band-/project- name? I am from Wales in the U.K, although i live in Manchester now as there are more gigs and opportunities. I am very interested in comic art, graffiti and literature and came across the word in a copy of the X-Men. I began being known as Hex but there is already an artist on Ninja tune with the same name. 2. How did you get involved into music? Being welsh, I began singing at an indecent age and then went on to play drums in many bands ( www.myspace.com/payolamanchester and www.myspace.com/debase the past ).I studied sound engineering with Ian Carmichael ( Lambs producer ) and began to build a studio. 3. What are your influences (e.g. bands, styles, circumstances)? Your personal way of music? I love many artists, starting with the Beatles, onto Nirvana, Shellac, Nine Black Alps, Idlewild, R.E.M, U.N.K.L.E and Dj Shadow. These guys are all very inspirational. I begin some songs with simple sounds, but many begin on an acoustic guitar and just evolve from there. Sometimes i wake up with the song in my head and can't get rid of it until it is recorded. 4. How would you describe your music? Individual, emotional, Heartfelt and interesting, ( I hope) 5. Which is your best way to write songs/music? How can you work most efficiently? I don't have any usual approach, some songs start with drums, vocals, or guitars. Others write themselves, I am Dyslexic so work in a quite unusual way. Self discipline is important and I give myself challenges. With "Install The Fear" i challenged myself to write, record and mix a song in a day, I think i did ok! 6. How long does it take you to create a song? – e.g. writing an recording Anything from 1 day to a year. I never release anything until it is the best i can make it, my studio is pretty basic so when i get more equipment I will be able to get some better results. I need new compressors and other stuff. 7. Are you also working together with other musicians as guest players or in collaboration? Yes, I play in a band called Payola ( www.myspace.com/payolamanchester ), I also produce a manchester Artist -Ponyboy ( www.myspace.com/horselad ) , a kind of Northern Elliot smith. I love his stuff and really enjoy working with him. I am always interested in working with interesting artists. 8. Which is your favorite location to play and where will you play next? I like the Night and day in Manchester, played there a lot in different guises. I have no real plans for immediate gigs, I need more equipment before i can really pull it off properly, oh...and money! 9. Do you have a video to your music? No. although one is being made at the moment By Jack Lloyd for Install the fear, an animation about alienation i believe. 10. Do you have other profiles next to the one on BeSonic? www.myspace.com/hexmusic.And Soudlift.com. I am just starting really. 11. Plans for the future? I want to be the first man to give birth in space. 12. Anything you want to add at this point? two pinches of salt and one of oregano. I would also like to add, thanks to everyone for listening to my music. I love making it and really enjoy feedback.
