September, 2004, half empty whisky bottle, 2 packs of cigarettes. 2 jaded amigos and 2 beat up old guitars. Whisky & Coke was born. Glen Grant(Belfast, Ireland) and Heiner Heartbreaker(Cologne, Germany) decided after years of playing in rock´n´roll bands, Dumbell, Cellophane Suckers, Backwoods Creatures, to name but a few, to try out playing the music they truly loved. After a few months of playing around as a duo, they thought “Hey, people like this shit, why not try it out with a band?” They pulled in Heiners old Backwoods compadre, Nils Hanisch, on bass and after a drunken night in the legendary `Sonic Ballroom` they persuaded Achim Lauber of Supernichts fame to caress the skins and keep the beat. Everything worked out as planned and they got the sound they were looking for, a mix of country, bluegrass, rock´n´roll, folk and just plain, good ol´ songwriting. The music sometimes makes you wanna dance, at other times cry and sometimes you just wanna lean back, relax and think about your life. Forget all the bandwagon jumping bands who are only in because country is “IN” and check out W & C, It´ll be worth out Bandmitglieder und Instrumente: Glen Grant – Acoustic and Electric Guitars, Mandolin, vocals Heiner Heartbreaker – Acoustic Guitar, vocals, Harmonica, Flute Nils Hanisch – Fender Bass Achim Lauber – Bass drum, snare and Ride cymbal Ähnliche Künstler: Hank III, Speedbuggy USA Beeinflusst von: Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Townes van Zandt, Merle Haggard, Steve Earle, Kiss, Led Zeppelin I + IV, AC/DC, Billy Childish, Misfits, Elvis, Motorhead, MC5, Supersuckers, Willie Heath Neal, Speedbuggy, etc, etc, etc Herkunft: Nordamerika - Homepage: http://www.whiskyandcoke.de Bookmark:
