The story goes I was living in Austin Texas my friend and I use to go out to a place east of there called Enchanted Rock, a huge series of granite domes (Batholits) it was the highest place for miles (not hard to do in Texas). We were up there one full moon night and needless to say we were quite "enchanted" my friends had gone off for a moonlight strole and I was wandering around on the rocks, suddenly my Dog at the time "Sativa" spoke to me, it was quite unnerving but we carried on a conversation for a bit and so we wrote this song. Sativa actually wrote it but seeing as she couldn't play the guitar I ended up playing it. This is a true story.

When you die, what language do they speak over there?

This song recently won me first place in the "Search for Talent" contest here in Durango. The song was written back in the 90's, I was listening to an NPR story about an initiative to turn Arizona in to an English only state, it seemed pretty ludicrous considering Arizona has quite a few Indian tribes with many different languages. At the time I was reading an Elisabeth Kubler-Ross book on Death and Dying. Needless to say the song practically wrote itself. For some reason the song came out in an Irish fiddle tune style

Written in the mid 90's recorded 2002. This song is a bit cynical with a light hearted twist. A love for life and an acceptance of our mortality is always a wake-up call. I'm getting back to my roots here.

An instrumental piece with a taste of the old world and modern beats.
Just a moment between working on my house where I could sit down and spend a couple of hours for creative release. Whew I needed that.

I rarely write love songs. This one is about being afraind to feel love for fear of loss. In our world of fast food and fast cars it seems relationships suffer and being head shy is far too common.
