Artist reviewGino Foti Some of the finest World/Jazz Fusion by this extraordinary musician, along the paths of Al Di Meola or Wheater Report, to name a few of his influences.. Sicilian bornGino Foti has been influenced by various music styles from Opera to classical and Mediterranean Folk Music from an early age. When he emigrated to the USA in the early seventies Gino got swept away by the buzzing Jazz Fusion and Progressive Rock music scene at that time. From then on he started developing his own style, picking up keyboards and bass, working with ethnic percussion and instrumentation loops and samples for his bandElectrum, and such refining his musical skills to a superior level. For his sleak Instrumental compositions Gino combines diverse World music elements with Jazz Fusion, Progressive Rock, classical and even New Age, using his bass guitar as a vehicle to create lasting melodies and rhythms. This year Gino simultaneously released four albums on his own Netlabel Net Dot Music Inc.:Orbis Terrarum,Sphere Of Influence, Bhavachakra, andVedic Mantras, which harmonize various ethnic traditions in combination with his improvisational Jazz-Rock fusions. My favorites on theBeSonic Page of Gino Foti are: India influencedSalayatana and the Bossa drivenDancing On The Edge Of A Dream. Official Website of Gino Fotiworldfusionmusic.com |
