| in early spring of 1999 singer/songwriter Zé Mari put ad in the paper looking for other musicians to start a new kind of soul band. Philipp, Hartmut, Thomas, Arno and Zé came together succesfully and named themselves after the very intensive german film “Durst” (german word for thirst) of 1992 starring at that time fameless actors Nicolette Krebitz and Jürgen Vogel. already in may of `99 thirst. was playing live for the first time in their home base of Cologne. as a consequence of its regular live appearances in western Germany, as well as the release of its first cd “elmowa ep” in 2000, the band has a following that is continously growing. the band has made numerous appearances on the radio, television (NBC, FAB, Bayrisches Fernsehen), performed nationwide in front of thousands of people (e.g. venues like Stadtgarten/COLOGNE, CCH/HAMBURG, B-Flat/BERLIN, Thalia/SCHWERIN as well as open airs like Ringfest/COLOGNE, Taubertal Festival). in 2004 thirst. released its homonymous debut album in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, published by indie label Elmowa Records and distributed by AL!VE. after the respectable success thirst. release its second longplayer “aphro” on october 20th 2006...
